Attack of the Clones

Crawler

There is unrest in the Galactic Senate. Several thousand solar systems have declared their intentions to leave the Republic.

This separatist movement, under the leadership of the mysterious Count Dooku, has made it difficult for the limited number of Jedi Knights to maintain peace and order in the galaxy.

Senator Amidala, the former Queen of Naboo, is returning to the Galactic Senate to vote on the critical issue of creating an ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC to assist the overwhelmed Jedi...

Summary for Attack of the Clones
When Amidala's party arrives on Coruscant, an assassin kills many of her companions but the senator escapes because she was traveling in disguise. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine arranges for Obi-Wan Kenobi to be assigned as her Jedi bodyguard while the Senator is on Coruscant. Amidala reluctantly accepts the arrangement but she is pleased to meet Obi-Wan and Anakin Skywalker again after ten years.

Anakin openly challenges Obi-Wan's authority as they make security arrangements but he subsides after a brief admonishment. During the night, an assassin is ordered to kill Amidala. Anakin and Obi-Wan foil the attempt and pursue the assassin, who is slain by another assassin just after the Jedi capture her.

Palpatine orders Amidala to return to Naboo for her own safety. Anakin is assigned as her personal escort while Obi-Wan is ordered to find out who is trying to kill the Senator. Anakin and Amidala travel in disguise as refugees. She leaves Jar Jar Binks as her acting representative.

Obi-Wan discovers that a planetary system has been erased from the Jedi archives. He travels to the planet's location and learns that ten years previously Jedi Master Sifo Dyas had placed an order with the Camino to build a clone army. As Obi-Wan gathers facts, he learns the army has been cloned from a bounty hunter named Jango Fett. Obi-Wan meets Jango and suspects he may be the assassin trying to kill Amidala. The Jedi Council order Obi-Wan to bring Fett in for questioning, but Fett escapes.

Anakin and Amidala arrive on Naboo and make arrangements to stay in the lake country. As they spend time together, Anakin charms Amidala. She begins to reveal a strong romantic interest in him. But during the nights Anakin dreams that his mother is suffering. He finally resolves to find her on Tattooine. Amidala goes with him.

Obi-Wan traces Jango Fett to the planet Geonosis, where he learns that Count Dooku is recruiting more allies for the secessionists and the Geonosians are building a new droid army. Since his long-range transmitter is damaged, he has to relay a message through Anakin. Obi-Wan is captured as he finishes recording his message.

Reunited with C-3P0 on Tattooine, Anakin learns that Shmi was captured by Tusken Raiders. His step-father, Cliegg Lars, was severely injured in a failed rescue attempt. Anakin tracks down the raiders and frees Shmi, but she dies in his arms. He kills all the Raiders and their families.

When Anakin and Amidala receive Obi-Wan's message, they retransmit it to Coruscant. Palpatine meets with key senators and the Jedi Council. They realize that the Republic needs an army, but Palpatine doesn't know how to persuade the Senate to authorize one. Jar Jar eventually proposes to the Senate that they give Palpatine special powers to resolve the crisis. Palpatine pledges to lay down the new authority when the crisis is over.

The Jedi Council orders Anakin to stay with Amidala, thinking he will not go after Obi-Wan, but Amidala decides to rescue Obi-Wan herself. Meanwhile, Mace Windu gathers as many Jedi as he can to mount a rescue operation on Geonosis, and Yoda resolves to visit the clone army.

Anakin and Amidala arrive on Geonosis first. They become separated from C-3P0 and R2-D2 in the huge automated factory which turns out droid soldiers. Anakin and Amidala are captured by the Geonosians and taken before Count Dooku, who condemns them to death with Obi-Wan. As Anakin and Amidala are led out into the arena, she confesses her love for Anakin.

Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Amidala struggle for their lives against the huge beasts the Geonosians send to kill them. As the crowd watches the three defeat their executioners, Mace Windu and the Jedi reveal themselves. A battle erupts and the Jedi are driven toward the center of the arena, taking many casualties.

When all seems lost, Dooku offers Windu a chance to surrender, and Windu refuses. But at the last moment, Yoda intervenes with the clone army. An even larger battle erupts as the Geonosians unleash all their droids. Representatives of the Trade Federation and other allies begin fleeing the planet.

Obi-Wan and Anakin trace Count Dooku to a hangar. Anakin ignores Obi-Wan and attempts to defeat Dooku by himself. Dooku easily overcomes both Jedi and in the process cuts off Anakin's right arm. Yoda arrives in time to fight Dooku to a stand-still, and Dooku flees.

Almost everyone returns to Coruscant. Dooku reports to Darth Sideous that the war has begun. Palpatine reviews the clone army as it embarks for various missions against the secessionist worlds. Back on Naboo, Anakin and Amidala are secretly married.
